NNB (Nearby Business Network) is a geo-aware product-search platform operated at nearnbuy.com for consumers and merchants in Pakistan and India. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the rights you have.
1. What we collect
- Phone number — used only for one-time-password (OTP) login and to deduplicate reviews. Stored as a salted hash after the OTP is verified; the raw number is not retained.
- Browser geolocation — read only after you grant your browser's location permission, used to rank shops by distance for a single search request.
- Photos uploaded by merchants — shop and product images submitted through the merchant app.
- IP address and User-Agent on flag/abuse submissions — collected only when you submit a flag report, used to rate-limit and prevent abuse.
2. What we do not collect
- No behavioural tracking or cross-site analytics cookies.
- No third-party advertising cookies or ad-network identifiers.
- No payment, card, or bank data — NNB has no checkout. Transactions happen offline between consumer and shop.
3. How long we keep it
- Phone hash: retained until you request account deletion (see Section 6).
- Geolocation: never persisted server-side beyond the current search request. We do not log location history.
- Photos: retained while the associated shop or product listing exists; deleted when the shop is removed.
- IP addresses on flag submissions: hashed before storage; the raw IP is not retained.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only with the named processors below, and only the minimum needed to operate the service.
- Google Business Profile API — to surface NNB shops on Google Maps and Search.
- Google Search Indexing API — to notify Google when a product page is created or updated for faster discovery.
- MinIO / Amazon S3 — object storage for merchant-uploaded shop and product photos.
- Sentry — error and crash reporting for the consumer web and merchant apps.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.
5. Your rights
Under Pakistan's Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA) and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.

6. Deleting your account or shop
Consumers can request deletion of their phone hash and any associated reviews by emailing privacy@nearnbuy.com. Merchants can request deletion of a shop, its listings, and its photos by either emailing the same address or using the contact option in the merchant app's profile screen.
7. Children
NNB is not directed at users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact privacy@nearnbuy.com and we will delete it.
